What Affects Real-World Flight Time?

This estimate uses battery energy (capacity × voltage) and a power-per-kilogram model for multirotor drones. Real-world flight time depends on additional factors: payload weight beyond the drone itself, altitude (thinner air at high elevation means motors work harder), temperature (cold batteries deliver less capacity), and how aggressively you fly.

Wind is the biggest variable. Flying into a headwind significantly increases power consumption. Plan conservatively and always land with at least 15–20% battery remaining.
